Primate Urges Nigerian Youth: “Don’t Lose Hope”

Rev. Henry Ndukuba, has urged Nigerian youths not to give up on the country, despite the many challenges facing the nation. He delivered the message at the 5th Joshua Generation International Youth Conference in Abuja on Tuesday.

Speaking to thousands gathered at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Ndukuba acknowledged the frustration and disillusionment among young people, particularly over issues like unemployment, insecurity, corruption, and moral decay. But he encouraged them to remain hopeful and proactive.

“Young people today are burdened by serious challenges,” he said. “But like Joshua and Caleb, you must not lose heart. Rise up and confront these problems spiritually, socially, economically, and politically.”

The conference, themed “Ambassadors for Christ,” focused on empowering youths to take bold stands for truth and righteousness in a nation grappling with division and decline. The Primate emphasized that their role in society and the Church is vital for Nigeria’s future.

He called on young people to reject the vices consuming their generation and to hold fast to values of truth, reconciliation, and courage. “You are the hope of the Church and the nation,” he declared. “Defend what is right, even when it’s unpopular.”

Reflecting on the country’s deepening divisions, Ndukuba warned that bitterness and tribalism are tearing communities apart. “We no longer see people—we see their tribe or religion. But the light shines brightest in darkness, and this generation must stand in the gap for a better Nigeria,” he concluded.
