BREAKING: Reps Go Into Executive Session as Contractors Protest at National Assembly Gate

The House of Representatives reconvened plenary on Wednesday but immediately entered a closed-door executive session to discuss key national issues, including the ongoing protest by unpaid indigenous contractors.
After nearly two hours behind closed doors, the lawmakers adjourned temporarily, with plans to reconvene later in the day. However, the exact time for resumption has not been disclosed to the public.
At the National Assembly complex, contractors under the All Indigenous Contractors Association of Nigeria are currently protesting at the main gate, demanding payment for completed constituency and federal projects.

The demonstration has led to a lockdown of the National Assembly entrance, as security operatives continue to restrict movement in and out of the complex.
Journalists and observers remain stationed outside, awaiting updates on the outcome of the House’s executive session and the next phase of proceedings.
