BREAKING: NDDC Proposes ₦1.75tn 2025 Budget, Shifts to PPP Model.

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has proposed a ₦1.75 trillion budget for 2025, themed “Budget of Consolidation,” marking a shift from transactional governance to transformational development.

Presenting the estimates before the House Committee on NDDC, Managing Director Dr. Samuel Ogbuku said the proposal reflects a no-borrowing approach and represents a nine per cent reduction from the 2024 budget.

He disclosed that the Commission recorded 104 per cent revenue performance in the 2024 fiscal year, with actual revenue reaching ₦1.945 trillion against a projected ₦1.911 trillion, largely due to the extension of the budge budget implementation period.

Ogbuku said the 2025 budget prioritises sectoral funding, infrastructure development, and Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), while moving away from line-item budgeting.

The proposal includes ₦47.5bn for personnel costs and ₦96.4bn for overheads, with capital investment remaining a key focus.
