The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally pledged its support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election, citing confidence in his leadership and the effectiveness of his Renewed Hope Agenda.
Speaking after a stakeholders’ meeting held Tuesday at the party’s state secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, the state APC chairman, Alhaji Olayide Abas, said the administration’s achievements within two years are enough to justify another term. The meeting brought together State Executive Committee members and APC chairmen across the state’s 33 local governments.
Abas commended Tinubu’s governance style, calling it courageous, determined, and patriotic. “He has demonstrated a clear understanding of Nigeria’s challenges and possesses the blueprint to address them. Nigerians need to give him enough time to complete the enormous task of repositioning the country,” he said.
According to him, recent defections from opposition parties into the APC reflect growing national confidence in Tinubu’s leadership. “Many Nigerians are now keying into the Renewed Hope Agenda, seeing APC as the only viable platform for national rebirth,” he stated, adding that Oyo APC is determined not to be left behind in this momentum.
Other party leaders at the meeting, including Secretary Alhaji Tajudeen Olanite, Publicity Secretary Olawale Sadare, Woman Leader Alhaja Tinuade Adigun, and Youth Leader Prince John Aremu, echoed Abas’s position, all vowing to mobilize support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
The Oyo APC leadership said the party is not only united behind President Tinubu’s agenda but is also ready to work actively to ensure a sweeping victory for the APC in the state come 2027.
