The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, with sources revealing that Adeleye was attacked while sleeping in one of the hotel’s rooms. His assailants reportedly stabbed him multiple times and struck his head with a mortar, leading to his death.
A close friend of the deceased expressed shock, saying they had spent time together on Monday night and were supposed to meet again on Tuesday, only to wake up to the tragic news.
Police sources confirmed that detectives from the Ondo State Police Command visited the crime scene and have taken Adeleye’s remains to the morgue while interrogating potential witnesses.
Confirming the incident, Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Alexander Olayinka, stated, “We have sent a team of detectives to the place and are on the trail of the perpetrators. As soon as we apprehend them, they will be brought to book.”
The case has since been transferred to the state police headquarters for further investigation, with authorities vowing to bring the culprits to justice.
