The House of Representatives has convened a closed-door meeting with the Minister of Finance, Mr. Wale Edun, and the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Mr. Zaach Adedeji, to address concerns over unpaid indigenous contractors.
The session is being chaired by Speaker Abbas Tajudeen. Lawmakers are expected to question the officials on the reasons for the extended delay in releasing the capital component of the 2025 Appropriation Act.
Following the formal opening of plenary and the recitation of the National Anthem, Speaker Tajudeen directed the Majority Leader, Hon. Julius Ihonvbere, to move a motion for the House to proceed into an executive session.
