Abuja, Nigeria – The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has confirmed ongoing telecom service disruptions in Abuja, affecting subscribers of major networks including MTN Nigeria and Airtel Nigeria. The outages are linked to a diesel supply shortage impacting IHS Nigeria Limited, the company responsible for powering critical base stations.
The diesel disruption, attributed to actions by the National Oil and Gas Suppliers Association (NOGASA), has affected fuel deliveries to key telecom sites, leading to widespread service interruptions.
The NCC is collaborating with telecom operators and stakeholders to resolve the issue and restore quality of service (QoS). The Commission urges cooperation to remove diesel bottlenecks and assures the public that updates will be provided as services are restored.
Subscribers are thanked for their patience during this period of telecommunication outages in Abuja.
