By Afrobeats star Wizkid has criticised Burna Boy following a reported altercation with his official DJ, DJ Tunez.
The incident reportedly occurred on Monday at Obi’s House, a popular weekly Afrobeats event in Lagos, where a disagreement between Burna Boy and DJ Tunez allegedly escalated into a physical confrontation. Eyewitness accounts claim members of Burna Boy’s entourage joined the fray before the situation was brought under control.
Although the cause of the dispute remains unclear, observers have linked it to ongoing rivalries within the music industry, particularly DJ Tunez’s close affiliation with Wizkid.
Reacting via X, Wizkid condemned Burna Boy’s actions, describing him as a coward for allegedly confronting the DJ with the support of multiple individuals.
DJ Tunez had earlier taken a swipe at Burna Boy, referring to him as a “coward” and posting “All Signs of Weakness,” a play on the singer’s album title No Sign of Weakness. Burna Boy, in response, shared a video mocking the DJ, further escalating tensions.
The controversy deepened on Tuesday amid reports that the Nigerian DJ Association had placed a ban on Burna Boy’s music.
