Three people have died and one person is in critical condition following a helicopter crash on the Isle of Wight.
According to the operator, Northumbria Helicopters, the aircraft was carrying four people on a training flight when the incident occurred.
Emergency services quickly cordoned off the area, with police vehicles stationed on nearby roads. BBC reporter Anjana Gadgil, reporting from the scene, said officers were securing the site as investigations got underway.
An eyewitness, Leigh Goldsmith, said she saw the helicopter “spiralling” before it disappeared from view.
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB), under the Department for Transport, has confirmed it has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
