‘You’re A Fool At 40, I’m Bigger Than Fela’ — Wizkid Fires Back At Seun Kuti

Nigerian music star, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has broken his silence amid the ongoing social media feud between his fanbase and Afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti, son of the late music legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

The clash, which has dominated conversations across social media platforms for days, began after Seun, 43, accused Wizkid’s fans, known as Wizkid FC of disrespecting his father’s legacy by comparing the ‘Made in Lagos’ crooner to Fela.

In what appears to be his first direct response to the controversy, Wizkid, 35, took to his Instagram stories on Tuesday evening, unleashing a barrage of insults aimed at Seun.

The Grammy-winning singer first shared a video of a woman speaking in Yoruba, who delivered a scathing rebuke of Seun’s recent behaviour online. In the clip, the woman criticised the Afrobeat singer’s “seven days and seven nights” of what she described as “insane” online rants and “cursing people’s children.”

She called on Seun’s family to intervene, suggesting his actions were damaging to Fela’s legacy. “Seun Kuti’s family, is this how you will be looking at this bro until he enters the market because he has been using 7 days and 7 nights to act insane?” she asked.

“You are cursing people’s children that much; you and your father will be unfortunate. If not for Wizkid, do you think anyone would care about your father or do you think we’re still in 1990?

“Your father succeeded, yet you’re this miserable? Is it only pant and weed you inherited from him? Wizkid literally has his tattoo on his body. I used to think you were wise. You’re finished!”

Moments later, Wizkid weighed in, hurling direct insults at Seun and even claiming superiority over his late father, Fela.

“Pu**y boy @bigbirdkuti ok I big pass your papa!!! Wetin u one do? Fool at 40!” he wrote.

In another post, Wizkid added: “@bigbirdkuti I’m Big Wiz, everyday bigger than your papa!! Wetin u one do, fool? Hungry bastard.”

The outburst has since intensified debate among fans and music lovers, with many condemning Wizkid’s remarks while others defended him, arguing that Seun had provoked the exchange with earlier comments about Wizkid’s global influence.

As of press time, Seun Kuti was yet to respond directly to Wizkid’s statements.
