Speaker Abbas Distributes Vehicles, 850 Motorcycles to CPC Supporters, Teachers, Clerics in Kaduna

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, on Sunday distributed 30 vehicles to support groups and former leaders of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in Kaduna State, as part of efforts to support the continuity of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani ahead of the 2027 elections.

The beneficiaries of the vehicle distribution included former CPC leaders from the 23 local government areas of Kaduna State, the three senatorial districts, and the party’s former state chapter.

In addition, the Speaker distributed 850 motorcycles to primary and secondary school teachers, Imams, polling unit heads, support groups, and security personnel to enhance mobility and improve access to their workplaces.

Speaking at the event, Speaker Abbas said the intervention was aimed at strengthening mobility, organisational capacity, and community infrastructure. He noted that the initiative followed the disbursement of financial grants to 2,400 constituents on Friday as part of his economic empowerment programme.

Abbas also announced a monthly donation of ₦15 million to the Old CPC Support Group in Kaduna State to support the re-election of President Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani. He stated that the support would commence in February and continue until the next general election.

The Speaker explained that the distribution of vehicles and motorcycles was designed to improve service delivery and support sectors such as education, security, political participation, and youth development within the Zaria Federal Constituency.

According to him, the vehicles were presented in recognition of the loyalty and commitment of the Old CPC Support Groups, whom he described as instrumental in laying the political foundation that led to the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He further disclosed that sports centres were being commissioned across the Zaria Federal Constituency, noting that sports development plays a key role in youth engagement and community development.

Speaker Abbas said the interventions align with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda under President Tinubu, which prioritises economic recovery, stability, and inclusive growth. He added that collaboration between federal and state authorities remains critical to sustaining peace and development in Kaduna State.

He urged beneficiaries to make responsible use of the vehicles and motorcycles to ensure the interventions translate into tangible benefits.

In his remarks, Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, commended the Speaker for what he described as inclusive and impactful leadership. He said the empowerment initiatives would improve livelihoods, promote self-reliance, and help reduce unemployment in the state.

Governor Sani urged the beneficiaries to ensure that the items received contribute meaningfully to economic empowerment and community development.
