FIFA Yet to Decide 2030 World Cup Final Venue

FIFA says it has not decided where the final of the 2030 World Cup will take place, despite claims by the president of the Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, that the match will be held in Morocco.

Morocco, Spain and Portugal will host the 2030 tournament and are competing to stage the final. Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu and a planned 115,000-capacity stadium in Benslimane, near Casablanca, are seen as the leading options.

Lekjaa said on Wednesday that Benslimane would host the final, saying the decision would stand regardless of opposition.

However, a FIFA spokesperson told AFP on Friday that no decision had been made.

The spokesperson said FIFA would announce the venue “in due course,” in line with an earlier statement issued on August 5, 2026.
