Egyptian teenager Hamza Abdelkarim will sign a new contract with Barcelona next week, keeping him at the Spanish champions until 2030.

The club announced this on Friday, saying the 18-year-old is expected to sign the contract extension on Tuesday.

Abdelkarim joined Barcelona on loan from Egyptian club Al Ahly in February before making the move permanent in the summer.

He became the youngest player to represent Egypt at a World Cup, featuring in four of the team’s five matches.

The teenager impressed during Barcelona’s pre-season campaign, scoring four goals in five games before making his competitive debut as a late substitute in the club’s 5-2 La Liga win over Rayo Vallecano last month.
