The Taraba State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on Governor Agbu Kefas to disclose the whereabouts of Deputy Governor Alhaji Aminu Arkari, raising concerns about his absence from public duties.
APC spokesman Mr. Aeron Atimas made the demand in an interview with LEADERSHIP in Jalingo on Wednesday, emphasizing the need for transparency in governance.
The opposition party insisted that the people of Taraba have a right to know about the deputy governor, stating that public officials are accountable to the electorate, not just the governor.
“The deputy governor is elected into office by the people of the state, he is not the personal property of the governor. We demand to know his whereabouts,” Atimas stated.
The APC further suggested that if Arkari is unwell, the Taraba State House of Assembly should constitute a medical panel to assess his condition and inform the public accordingly.
Governor Kefas has yet to respond to the demand, leaving questions about the deputy governor’s status unanswered.
