Federal Gov’t to Fill Key Paramilitary Roles

Federal Gov’t to Fill Key Paramilitary Roles

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced plans to fill top management vacancies in four paramilitary agencies by the end of March 2025.

This was disclosed by the chairman of the Board and Minister of Interior, who was represented by the Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), Abdulganiyu Jaji, after a closed-door meeting with officials.

Jaji highlighted that many paramilitary services currently lack substantive Deputy Controller Generals (DCGs) and Assistant Controller Generals (ACGs), leaving officers to serve in acting capacities without formal appointments.

“In some services, officers are merely covering duties, which is not ideal,” Jaji stated. “As a result, the Board has decided that these positions will be filled starting Monday, March 9.”

He further explained that the accreditation of officers will take place between March 9 and March 11, ensuring a transparent selection process.

The recruitment exercise is expected to be completed by the end of March, providing stability and proper leadership across the affected paramilitary agencies.
