Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has filed a lawsuit against Senate President Godswill Akpabio over alleged defamation of character.
The legal action follows a recent controversy in the Senate, where Akpoti-Uduaghan’s seat was reassigned after a reshuffle caused by opposition members defecting to the ruling party.
She strongly opposed the relocation, leading to a tense confrontation with Akpabio.
On Tuesday, she officially filed the lawsuit at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court, challenging statements she claims damaged her reputation.
The suit names Akpabio as the second defendant, along with his Senior Legislative Aide, Mfon Patrick, as the third defendant.
With the case now in court, political observers are closely watching how the dispute unfolds within the Senate.
