By Senator Ademola Adeleke, paid a surprise visit to Chief Bisi Akande, the pioneer national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Tuesday in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Adeleke, who was accompanied by top members of his cabinet, held a closed-door meeting at Akande’s residence. Akande, a respected elder statesman, also served as Osun State governor and is a known political ally of President Bola Tinubu.
While details of their discussion remain unclear, political observers see the visit as a strong signal of cross-party dialogue and engagement, despite the ongoing tensions between the ruling PDP and the APC in Osun.
Adeleke’s relationship with the Osun APC has been turbulent, especially after the February 10, 2025 ruling by the Court of Appeal, which further deepened the tussle over local government control in the state.
This latest move by Adeleke has sparked speculation about possible reconciliation efforts or political realignments ahead of future elections in the state.
