Trump Confirms No US Troops in Ukraine, Stresses Peace Efforts

US President Donald Trump has confirmed that the United States will not send troops to Ukraine, emphasizing that American involvement will be limited to support measures such as air assistance. Speaking on Fox News, Trump said, “You have my assurance, and I am president. I’m just trying to stop people from being killed.”

While US forces will stay out of Ukraine, Trump noted that European allies including France, Germany, and the United Kingdom are “willing to put people on the ground” as part of broader security guarantees.

Ukraine Land and Negotiation Updates

Trump highlighted that Ukraine will regain significant territory and expressed hope that President Zelensky would demonstrate flexibility in negotiations. He also clarified that the US does not plan to support Ukraine’s NATO membership or the return of Crimea, which Russia occupied in 2014.

Following a “coalition of the willing” meeting, European leaders reaffirmed support for Ukraine. Estonian PM Kristen Michal confirmed potential troop deployment, while Polish PM Donald Tusk highlighted ongoing support. European Council President António Costa stressed the importance of ending Russian violence, and Italian PM Giorgia Meloni emphasized Western unity for peace.

Slovak PM Robert Fico reiterated his opposition to Ukraine joining NATO, calling it incompatible with ending the conflict.

Military Developments in Ukraine

Ukrainian officials reported Russian strikes on Kremenchuk, targeting oil and transport infrastructure. The city’s mayor posted footage of smoke and warned residents about unexploded ordnance. Ukrainian forces struck ammunition depots near Bilokurakyne in Luhansk, while 30,000 households in Chernihiv lost power after a drone attack.

Body Exchange Between Russia and Ukraine

Russian media reported that Moscow returned the bodies of 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers and received 19 bodies from Ukraine, part of agreements from previous Istanbul talks.
