Concerns are growing within the APC in Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency I after allegations of irregularities, intimidation and imposition during the party’s primary election.
Some aspirants and supporters claimed the exercise was not transparent and failed to follow proper procedures. Reports from some wards alleged poor accreditation, tension and intimidation during the process, which discouraged many party members from participating freely.
Sources also alleged that some officials and political loyalists disrupted the exercise in certain areas, creating fear and confusion among voters.
Aggrieved aspirants claimed the party’s guidelines for the direct primary election were not properly followed. Some agents also alleged they were prevented from performing their duties and refused to sign the election documents.
Political observers warned that unresolved complaints could deepen divisions within the party, weaken support ahead of the 2027 elections and lead to voter apathy or possible defections.
Some dissatisfied aspirants are said to have submitted petitions to the party’s appeal committee seeking redress.
