The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a planned blackout in parts of Ibadan due to maintenance work on a major transformer.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, said the maintenance will take place between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
She explained that the company will shut down a 100MVA 132/33kV transformer to carry out routine checks and servicing.
According to TCN, the exercise is aimed at improving efficiency and ensuring stable electricity supply.
As a result, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) will not be able to supply power to customers in the Express, Industrial, and Oluyole areas during the period.
TCN assured residents that electricity will be restored immediately after the maintenance work is completed.
