Ekiti APC Primary: Panel Declares Election Inconclusive as Rotimi Maintains Lead

The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Assembly Primary Election Panel has declared the Ekiti North I (Ikole/Oye) Federal Constituency primary election inconclusive following petitions over alleged irregularities.

The petitions were reportedly filed by Erelu Kemi Elebute-Halle and former House of Representatives member, Hon. Bimbo Daramola, who raised concerns about the conduct of the exercise in parts of Ikole Local Government Area.

Despite the panel’s decision, stakeholders and supporters of the incumbent lawmaker, Rep. Akintunde Rotimi Jr., insist he recorded a clear and decisive lead across most wards in the constituency.

They argue that results from the election show a wide margin in favour of the incumbent, adding that complaints from a single ward are not enough to overturn the overall outcome.

Party stakeholders also maintain that the primaries were properly conducted and point to widespread endorsements from APC leaders across Ekiti State ahead of the exercise as evidence of strong support for the lawmaker.

The APC Election Panel is expected to review all petitions and announce a final decision on the primary election outcome.
